German-Chinese Symposium:

Demographic challenge and potential solutions – Comparison of elderly care in Germany and China

On the 5th and 6th February a German – Chinese symposium was held in the “House of guarantee”, Bremen, under the title “Demographic challenge and potential solutions – Comparison of elderly care in Germany and China”. The event was organized by the Institute for Public Health and Nursing Research at the University of Bremen, Bremen, the Confucius Institute and the German-Chinese Society for Care Association. Many German and Chinese experts exchanged views on innovative approaches to care, nursing education, -performance, -management and policy. The China Care Project was invited to present it´s approach of collaborative nursing education in China and present the findings of the project. The symposium presented the opportunity to identify future partnership possibilities and to make important new network partners.
