22/23.06.14:
Visit by a Chinese delegation from Zunhua (China)
A group of investors from Zunhua city (Provinz Hebei, China) visited FIAP and the Ambulante Pflegedienste Gelsenkirchen GmbH (APD) on the 22/23.6.2014. Their aim was to discuss the opportunities which exist within combined the project Chinacare for building an elderly care infrastructure in Zunhua.
The delegation‘s visit began with a meal hosted by FIAP on the evening of 22.6.2014, where the possibilities which exist inside the FAIP/Zunhua partnership, ‘Project ChinaCare’, were explored. The meeting was continued on 23.7.2014 with a workshop and a guided tour of facilities of the APD.
The delegation, accompanied by the Gelsenkirchen department for economic development, visited the new APD headquarters in Margarethe-Zingler-Platz in the Gelsenkirchen old town, and the award-winning outpatient assisted living community in Sutum, Gelsenkirchen. APD executive director, Claudius Hasenau, presented the concept of holistic, neighbourhood related supply chains: It ranges from outpatient care in their own homes via assisted living with customizable support services and the provision of day care, to alternative living and care arrangements for people with dementia. The APD has gathered data on and experience on culturally sensitive care with their Turkish and Libyan partners.
The Chinese investors, Wei Chen und Xianlin Meng, from the city of Zunhua, 130km north of Beijing in the province of Hebei, were impressed.
Given the rapidly advancing demographic change in China, the entire elderly care sector, including outpatient and (semi)-Inpatient service, needs to be expanded, professionalized and modernized. Not the need for institutions, but also for qualified senior care staff, provides an enormous growth market for German training providers.
