April 2014

China Trip by the joint project ChinaCare

In April 2014 the Joint Project ChinaCare sent a delegation consisting of: Susanne Leng, Cordula Wiesner (KBS), Claudia Nick, Kai Beutler (MA&T), Lan Yao, Silke Steinberg, Rüdiger Klatt (FIAP e.V.), to China. During the visit the delegation stopped in the Cities of Fushun, Beijing and Shanghai. In Fushun discussions were held with technical-health colleges and schools, as well as Economic Development and City Councils to prepare the joint training cooperation and to support the development of the elderly care infrastructure. The talks were successful and concrete agreements have been put in place for further steps to be taken. Through the existing partnership between the city of Gelsenkirchen and Fushun City, especially the office of the representative of the Fushun City in Gelsenkirchen, a network will be developed to support the project in the Lianoning region. This network provides a conduit to making it possible to have a functioning cooperative educational system in the field of elderly care and to build an infrastructure which promotes the creation of skilled jobs. Talks took place in Beijing between the project teams and two major Universities to analyze the conditions of the development of elderly care in China. The project was been presented at several conferences. The German Chamber of Commerce has agreed close working cooperation with Shanghai, to assist with the transfer of results. In autumn 2014 it is expected that a Chinese delegation will make a trip to Germany, during which the German elderly care system will be presented. In addition, the development of the curriculum for training, in direct cooperation between German and Chinese teachers, will be continued.
