Award ceremony for the "Land of the demographic opportunities"
Dr. Dagmar Siebecke (Burnon center Dusseldorf) among the winners!
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched an ideas competition as part of the Year of Science 2013 under the motto "the demogaphic opportunity". In six categories around the world working enterprises, scientific institutions, networks, associations and clubs were invited to present their economically and socially relevant solutions for management of demographic change. The competition was a huge success: more than 130 concepts and ideas were submitted.
On 06/09/2013 Thomas Rachel, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and Professor, Dr Sabina Jeschke, director of the institute cluster IMA / Tot & IfU RWTH Aachen University, presented the prizes. Secretary Rachel’s speech emphasised the importance of mental health in the workplace and how it is fundamental for the efficiency of employees and the innovative capacity of enterprise during demographic change.
Winner in the category "Age-appropriate approaches to health and work ability" was Dr. Dagmar Siebecke, founder of Burnon Centre in Dusseldorf. Dr. Siebecke won a cash prize of € 25,000 with her concept of "Fire and flame in the job - until retirement". Undersecretary Thomas Rachel’s speech emphasised the importance of mental health in the workplace and how it is fundamental for the efficiency of employees and the innovative capacity of enterprise during demographic change
Dr. Siebecke’s Burnon-center is just like the Præview magazine and FIAP, a branch of the BMBF-funded project "Pragdis - Preventive Health and safety in discontinuous employment histories." Dr. Siebecke was one of the founding members of FIAP and such FIAP is very happy to warmly congratulate her as the winner.
In April this year, the team from the magazine praised the work of Dr. Siebecke with the special edition "burn-out? Burn-on! With Fire and flame for healthy work". At the award ceremony she was presented with the limited edition.
